Below is a plain account of the information Meowlore handles, what it is used for, and how to have it removed.
The scope of this page
This policy covers this website. It does not cover the sites we link to, each of which has its own, nor any social platform where the site has a presence: there, the platform’s rules govern what it collects, and we see only what it chooses to show us.
What is collected
Your browser sends technical information to our server on every request: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the referring address, and how long you stay. This is ordinary web-server behaviour and we do not tie it to a name.
You give us data only when you choose to: an email address if you subscribe, and whatever you write if you use the contact form.
How the data is used
- Operate and maintain the site.
- Measure, at the level of the whole audience, what cat care content is useful.
- Reply to you.
- Deliver a newsletter you explicitly opted into.
- Comply with the law where it applies to us.
The companies involved
We rely on a small number of third parties, each with its own policy: Google Analytics for aggregate statistics, Google AdSense for advertising, the company that hosts the site and keeps server logs, and the service that sends the newsletter. Some of them set cookies of their own.
The services above are operated by companies based in the United States, so data reaching them is processed there. Each publishes its own transfer safeguards, which is the mechanism relied on rather than any arrangement of ours.
Newsletter data
The only thing a subscription requires is an address. It is not sold, not lent, and not used for anything other than the newsletter. Unsubscribing takes it off the list.
Why we are allowed to
For readers covered by European or United Kingdom law, the lawful bases are consent (newsletter, non-essential cookies), legitimate interest (operating the site, aggregate measurement) and legal obligation. Any consent given can be taken back whenever you like.
Retention
Retention differs by type. Logs sit with the host and are rotated there. Analytics obeys the retention window set in the Analytics console. An email address stays while you are subscribed. A contact message is kept for the length of the exchange.
On profiling
No decision about you is made automatically here, and there is no profiling with legal or similarly significant effect. The site publishes articles; it does not score readers.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else’s independent marketing. There is no data broker in this chain. California readers should read that as the answer to the opt-out right under the CCPA: there is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is sold.
Your rights
Write to us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. The unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter is real and immediate. Cookies are yours to refuse in your browser. If you live in the EEA, the UK or California you have extra rights by law; we apply them to all readers.
Minors
Readers under 13 are not the audience for Meowlore and we do not knowingly hold their data. A message from a parent or guardian is enough to have anything of the sort erased.
Safeguards
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what we hold. No system on the internet is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
If something goes wrong
Complaints are best raised with us first, through the contact page, because that is quickest. You keep the right to go straight to your data protection authority instead.
Updates
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced on the site.
