MeowLore participates in affiliate programs. This page explains what that means, how we handle affiliate links, and what it means for you as a reader. We want to be straightforward about this.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a special URL that includes a tracking code. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase on the destination site, we may receive a small commission from that retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same, whether you use our link or not. The commission comes out of the retailer’s side, not yours.
Affiliate programs we participate in
MeowLore is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
We may also participate, from time to time, in other affiliate programs related to products we use or recommend in our content. When we do, we apply the same standards described below.
How we mark affiliate links
We follow the disclosure standards required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) under 16 CFR Part 255. In practice, this means:
- Articles that contain affiliate links carry a visible disclosure near the top of the article
- Affiliate links are marked with the
rel="sponsored"attribute as required by search engine guidelines - We never disguise an affiliate link as editorial content
How affiliate links affect our content
Our recommendation policy is simple. We only link to products we have personally bought, tested, or have direct experience with. The affiliate relationship does not influence which products we recommend or how we review them. If a product is not worth recommending, we either say so or we leave it out.
If you find a recommendation on this site that does not feel honest, tell us through our contact page. We take that seriously.
Your choice
You are under no obligation to use our affiliate links. You can search for any of the products we mention directly through your preferred retailer. Using our links is one way to support MeowLore, but it is entirely optional.
Changes
If our affiliate relationships change materially, we will update this page to reflect the new state of things.
